Buena Park: A Guide to Good Living by the Lake

Buena Park is such an amazing neighborhood with so much to offer. First developed in 1887, this historical neighborhood with its Prairie-style homes and courtyard apartments is full of unique restaurants, bakeries, and bars. Join us for a quick tour of our favorite Buena Park hot spots.

Dollop Coffee is a funky oasis and neighbor to our Reside on Clarendon location. Dollop has many great locations, but the Buena Park location is the O.G. The walls are covered in art from local artists, and on any given day you can find people working on their laptops, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and friendly baristas. We usually can’t decide what to order and carb overload by getting both a bagel and a croissant. They are a Reside Rewards partner, so show your rewards key tag for discounts on tea and coffee.

Klein’s Bakeryowned by a Venezuelan husband and wife duo, is the newest addition to the neighborhood.  They offer coffee, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, macarons, muffins, bagels, and a full-service breakfast menu until noon. Their stunning custom cakes line the windows and draw you in and the cozy chairs and intoxicating smell of fresh baked croissants will keep you there. We recommend the Cachitos, a Venezuelan style croissant made with slightly sweetened bread dough and stuffed with smoked ham, and the Golfeados, a sweet and syrupy bun topped with cheese.

The Reservoir is a great watering hole on Montrose with awesome daily specials and bottomless mimosas as part of their brunch menu on the weekends. It has a friendly atmosphere, mouthwatering burgers, flatbreads, and incredible craft beer selection. Order the chicken biscuit and enjoy the morning on their patio with friends and family.

Holiday Club is a Buena Park must. With trivia, karaoke, dancing, comedy, drink specials, and burgers, there is literally something for everyone. The club has two rooms, each with their own bar, so you can choose your own adventure. Start the night out with a ’90’s dance party, then cool off with cocktails by the pool table. Check out their website for the daily schedule and we’ll see you Tuesdays for our favorite trivia night in the city.

Tac Quick Thai restaurant moved on to Irving Park from their Sheridan location and now offers a full bar, spacious dining room, patio, and a quick carry out station so you can grab a tasty dinner on the way home. Be sure to check out their secret menu for authentic Thai specials, or if you know what you like they make the classics too. Their friendly service and warm atmosphere keep us coming back for more.

Corona’s Coffee Shop is a cozy breakfast and lunch café located just off the Sheridan Red Line stop. They offer delicious breakfast sandwiches, espresso drinks, paninis, and smoothies. The newly renovated interior has this Irving Park staple looking fresher than ever.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to great Buena Park restaurants and bars, which is why we are so happy to have 5 Reside Living locations all in this eclectic hub.  Share with us your go-to spots in the Buena Park neighborhood!
