5 Donut Places You Must Try In Chicago

06-27-2017

Chicago has its fair share of amazing, award-winning restaurants and we think that desserts should be treated no differently.

No matter whether you’re team cake or team yeast donut, you can find whatever you’re looking for here in the city. There’s some differences of opinion when it comes to who’s actually the best donut in town, but no matter who you side with, it’s bound to be on this list.

1. Do-Rite

After recently opening their third location in the West Loop,  Do-Rite  is expanding to be able to serve you all the cheese danish and maple bacon donuts you want.

They also have breakfast and chicken sandwiches available – some of which actually come with a donut as a bun.

Pro Tip: You can order online to just walk in and leave immediately with delicious donuts.

2. Stan’s

Stan’s is a little more prevalent throughout the city with 6 locations in Chicagoland and 1 in Oak Brook. They have a wide selection of flavors from this lemon pistachio to a Nutella pocket that can’t be passed up!

You can find their menu  here .

3. Doughnut Vault

Doughnut Vault  has been praised by many as the number one donut spot in the city. At its primary location on Canal Street there is often a line down the street to place an order. A second location was opened in 2014 on Franklin Street and both remain open only until they run out of inventory.

Doughnut Vault did have a van that traveled around the city, but it has recently been retired. To keep tabs on donut inventory, follow  @DoughnutVault  on Twitter to see when they’re sold out.

4. Firecakes

Firecakes  is located in both River North and Lincoln Park. They have a delicious classic old fashioned as well as a number of other flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth. Some days they are open until midnight, so check hours of operation if you’re feeling a late night snack attack coming on.

Insider Tip: they also have a donut ice cream sandwich.

5. Bombobar

Attached to Bar Siena in the West Loop is Bombobar, which doesn’t technically serve donuts, but they’re close enough. Bombobar serves bombolinis, or Italian hole-less donuts. They come with a variety of filling flavors to choose from which you are given in a bottle to inject into your donut. There are seasonal flavors as well, which you’ll have to find out by going there. Their regular menu can be found  here .
