3 Arts Club Cafe

04-05-2017

The first time you go to  3 Arts Club Cafe  is, in a word, astonishing. The cafe itself is smack dab inside  Restoration Hardware , a luxury home furnishings store hidden along the neighborhood streets of the Gold Coast. This isn’t unusual for this area — the original Playboy mansion and a men’s-only cigar club are within blocks yet tricky to find in the same way.

Restoration Hardware itself is set up like a museum, with every floor boasting more glamour than the next. Looking for a 1920s Odeon Clear Glass Fringe Collection Chandelier? Look no further. Restoration Hardware can show you an array of options.

Since we’re in no position to buy a $3000 light fixture (fingers crossed one day?), we stick to window shopping and devouring the food at 3 Arts Club Cafe, the stunning restaurant located on the first floor. And while we’re sure that you can’t go wrong with any of the choices on this beautifully curated menu, we’ve highlighted our best experiences thus far:

Breakfast

You can sample treats from Doughnut Vault, dive into local yogurt topped with house-made granola, or pick something more savory: buttery Texas toast served alongside half an avocado and scrambled eggs prepared with crème fraîche. Clean-cut, simple, filling, and delicious.

Lunch

The lunch menu is much more extensive than the early morning options, with plenty of salads, vegetable plates, cheese boards, and entrees to choose from. Their truffled grilled cheese isn’t to be missed: house-made sourdough bread that is stuffed with perfectly melty cheddar and infused with aromatic truffle butter that makes savoring the sandwich in small bites an almost impossible task.

Afternoon Tea

Escape from the office one afternoon and sit among arguably the most beautiful ambiance in the city. Sip on Thai spring oolong tea or a ginger latte and snack on warm chocolate chip cookies or any number of their daily pastry options. It’s a delicious afternoon getaway.
